viva la espana!

all this hype over the FIFA World Cup 2010 and all those talks about who's gonna be the new champion and the funny sounds the vuvuzuelas make and how Jabulani is crazy to side the underdogs and all those musings and writings and blogs about the world cup makes me feel like there is nada difference for me to write nor talk about it. even an octopus made the news by amusing everyone through its ability to accurately predict over and over again in matches it was asked to predict lol.

i never felt the need to talk or write about the world cup and the team i am rooting for and its glory in reaching the finals for the first time ever. even as a fan, i only rejoice in a little celebration when my fav team wins but only God knows how fast my heart is beating or how psyched and excited i am inside. sure, there is aplenty of joy and excitement as i talked about it with family and friends over meals and a cuppa or even in the laboratory when we're in a poor sleepy state of mind and the best part of it all is to be able to jubilate in exhilaration or dramatise our cries of desperation over a team's blunder (england, haha!) during a match. but i never felt the need to express myself like a madwoman when it comes to talking about my fav team. in short, i don't think i can be crazy over anything as long as i kept it in a speed of heartbeat in my heart lol.

i kept my silence on the world cup thus far and when i meant silence i only meant it in writing maybe because i felt that talking about it might jinx spain's chance in winning the trophy wtf. but i'd really love to show my support in writing just for once, just before this once-in-every-four-years event come to an end, just before the new semester starts and i won't have any chance to write profusely (not that i ever did!) like this anymore due to an expected crazy overmouting workload and time constraint, just before my final year project kickstart into its serious no-joke phase.

sometimes i wonder if i am a true fan of football because if there was a competition on who can talk the most on it, i would definitely lose like mad. and don't get me started on spain. good looking lads, charms, and beautiful football aha. but that's another story for another time.

found this extremely sweet looking picture of david villa and his daughter.

awwww such a cutie! adds up to all the hawtness and machoness /swoons <3

and wayne rooney was voted ugliest player at the World Cup HAHAHAHAHAHA ok i am so bad to laugh at him but he didn't perform at all lor for this World Cup and i don't get all the hype over him. seriously the most overrated player TSKK.

gud naits with love still in hyper mood cos finally get to bervideocall with mummy and daddy! :)) /missing home missing mummy's cooking period.

powerful words

"everytime you forget who you are, remember who i am"
powerful words by someone very dear to me. i wished i could record every single word spoken to me to remind me about things. when i forget those words, i forget who i am and that feels awful.
i wanna remember your every inspirational words, every advice, every words of love. ah, these are the things i should always remember and keep in mind. not some useless garbage spoken by people who don't matter.
wake up, cavina! remember those words, every single advice, every single reminder, because they are the truest of all. but here i am, denying myself of those true words, being overtaken by useless thoughts. aah, evil bedevil, get off my mind!
"everytime you forget who you are, remember who we are"
i am so very grateful for every single thing that i have in my life. stupid evil thoughts just like to cloud my judgement, making me forget how blessed or fortunate i am.
baby steps, baby. baby steps and just do what's right.
<3
"peace i leave with you
my peace i give to you
not as the world gives do i give to you
let not your heart be troubled
neither let it be afraid"

comfort zone

hello there world. i have so much to tell you lately. but it's getting late and i am suppose to be working on my thesis. so laters, hahaha. i always do that, don't i? well, the joys of being a human. being able to escape from the realities of the world.

facing a bit of a dilemma of late. a good buddy told me its about time i get out from my comfort zone and approach people about it. it's definitely difficult, but it's the best and righteous thing to do. the importance of going all out for someone and not expecting anything in return is the right thing to do, he says. well said, i couldn't agree more. aah i am so being vague
i just lost my chain of thoughts wtf.

sigh. growing up is a difficult thing to do. no, wait. growing up is easy. you just..grow. to face stuff as you grow up is difficult.
i don't think i like being an adult when it comes to these things.

this is where i need to be in touch with my inner spirituality.
apart from my family at home, i am truly blessed to have these few people away from home that are always there for me
spiritualy.

me and shan shan!

me and brendan dong dong

want to post more pics of the other cool people in my lives who have always helped me through spiritually and emotionally but heh it's getting late and i'm lazy. but you know who you are loves!
i heart all of you <3

i still can't believe

i missed my flight home to penang yesterday T____T

and my whole mas ticket from kk to penang via kl got burned.

this has never happened to me! who says first times are always the best wtf.

i must be jinx with malaysian airlines or something cause the last time i flew with mas, we had to standby for almost four hours T___________T

if i ever do take mas again, i'll make sure i'll arrive at the airport like, five hours earlier before check-in time.

in my defense, i don't think the mas staff was being gracious at all. we were only a few minutes late before the check-in counter closes. is this what you call MH Malaysian Hospitality? and i'm a malaysian wtf.

okay enough swearing.

on a brighter note, i get to spend some time in kuching instead!

i'm just really bummed out cause well, i was really looking forward to spending time at home with ze mummy and ze daddy and ze babie. but it's okay now i get to see them in two days!
since i didn't have a chance to do a mother's day post so here's a belated one:

this was back when i still had curly murly hair! <3

to my dearest mummy, happy belated mummys day! you're ze bestest best mummy in the WWW (whole wide world). i love you so much and i miss you and i can't wait to be home to see you again. wishing you all the good things in the world, good health, happyness, joy, and love, every day, every second. *hugss & kisses!

well they say my hair is fine nice already lah noneed to cut but the weather is pushing me to spot a new hairdo. heh another excuse blame the weather plaks =p

now that i really think about it, i wanna go back to having a fringe. it should be more manageable.

hmm, i'm considering cutting my own hair. in kk. maybe, just maybe //giggles

i'm suppose to write a more meaningful and deeper post than this but i got carried away lol wtf. i'm itching to write an emo post actually. a good emo one. let's see how the night goes loves!

new things

i've been struggling with so many things for the past few days, even up till last night. not that all are bad, they just seemed to raise more questions every time i think about them. the rows we had, the inevitable questions, the arguments. it's so difficult. but good times were really, really good.

i know a huge part of it was my fault. nothing, i guess, was ever enough for me even though he did so much already and always wanting and working to work things out. and who is anyone to decide that he or she is right or wrong anyways? i guess i wasn't being fair at all. i inevitably became someone i didn't want to be. i should always stick to being myself. but sometimes, i am so confused. i don't really know who i should be anymore.

but things are progressing really well now. i decided to go back to my old self and that ultimately came with maturity and lots and lots of understanding and compromise. sometimes, it's not easy. certain things just haunts me, but i know i am not alone and that we're in this together. this, i was made to understand last night and i was so glad. it's like a huge closure. and everything was so sweet again.

i don't know what is right or what is wrong. all this time i never knew i potrayed an image of having a person to meet requirements just so he could love me. i realised that's so wrong and despite all this, he still tried and tried so hard, just to make me happy. all this while i thought that everything was right just because i thought that all of that was right. and i fussed over the tiniest littlest things only god knows what came over me. and i am so sorry i hurt him so much in the process and made him feel underappreciated.

i have fears too. like doubts that will this work, will things get better, or worse. but i think i should stop being selfish and try to compromise. however, i do hope this person respect my views just as i respect his when it comes to certain things.

all these things shouldn't have even happened had i been myself. i should be the most secure girl on earth! all the things he did, priceless! (though i wish he could do more, okay shut up cavina).

anyways! the point is:

one, i really need to start appreciating the littlest tiniest things in life. not that i never but you'll know what i am talking about if you're me.

two, i really, seriously, cannot wear my emotions up my sleeve and get upset or unhappy about the tiniest things that displeases me that often. it's really not healthy.

and tres, i cannot allow myself to swivel down the drain everything something bad happens which isn't really bad at all but i made it sound like the hugest deal in the world.

there's alot that i need to change, but besos besos we'll handle things one step at a time.

xoxo,

feliz chino nueve every buddy!

the week that was

a week into the new semester and this was what i'd realised:
one, my spanish is so darn rusty.

two, my chemistry - ohmygosh i really need to study them all back again.

three, i'm so glad i'm in debate cos it just makes studying environmental law so much easier
, and;

four, it's really not at all that easy to quit debate. like he said "debate is a large chunk of our uni life and to not have you there is hard" AWWWW. so sweet. but that's not the point lalala. i think debating has actually shaped me into who i am today in the most positive chi ying and yang energy way ever. serious! ;D

had an awesome weekend ;) we catched the sherlock holmes movie and round and round the mall to search for this eating place. and yesterday, everything just fell into place ;)))

kk is so hot these days. i get tired all the time, like so easily. i'm just taking whatevernots oppurtunity i have to sleep before tomorrow starts. that's the new week where all the workload starts to pile in.

on another note, i really miss a good read. a friend reminded me of the books i used to read last night. right now, the time traveler's wife is something i would love to dig in.

also, i got to know as the vanilla and strawberry flavoured girl HAHA. weird line to end a post with but oh well, tooodles and be good XOXO ;)

feliz cumpleanos mi hermana!

tomorrow is caryn lim myn li's birthday =DDD

caryn happens to be my baby sister. and she is turning twelve tomorrow. sigh. how fast time flies.
i could still vividly remember back to the time she was just a baby. back to the time when she was just brought out into this world. nine years gap, you ask? yep, our gap was that big. so obviously we have very different tastes. but i know i somehow influenced her one way or another. in a good siblings influences kind of way lar, ahems. she grew up faster than i thought she should. her favourite music was from linkin park. who wasn't if you were born in 1988 and the in music was by LP and have a little sister to pour influence upon? well, i did, indirectly, that is. i don't even want to go into the fashion part. i think i robbed her of her childhood. haha kidding kidding. i didn't have internet connection growing up till i was, eleven? during her time, everything my time was becoming obsolete and so yeah, you get the point. i guess i was a huge role model for her, despite her refusal to admit it EVERYTIME =p

to my baby sister who likes to be called 'baby' or 'sayang' but denies it ALL THE TIME, whom people must hug instead of her doing the hugging, who reeefuuseesss to kiss her mom, dad, and SISTER (hah! *roll eyes*),

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!
YOU'RE TURNING 12!
I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!
i always thought about what was going to happen or how is it going to feel like when she was just born when i was only 9, and then thought about what going to happen to her, how is she going to be like by the time i'm 18 when i was 9, and now that i'm 21, i do know how it is like. i'm very proud of my sister, she collects more trophies in her entire 12 years of life than me in my 21 years of life!!!

wishing you good health and all the best this birthday, in upsr (sap sap sui only), in boys (kidding kidding, must start protecting you ady), SMILE ALWAYS (you look pretty when you do!), don't always muka masam okay next time you grow up looking like that baru tau (kidding KIDDING!), and i love you baby.
despite our hugeee gap, know that we didn't spend enough time with each other as we should, but know that you are always in my heart, like how torres is always in my heart oukayyy i should probably stop joking around HAHA. it's a pity i can't be back to celebrate with you this birthday, but nah, i made this post specially for YOU!!! see, i always think of you one =p
take care sis, you better brag to people about this! HAHA.
MUAXXX!!!
missing you always ;D

the black parade

today the world mourns the death of one talented king of pop, who was dubbed the "troubled genius" by cnn, and whose music dominated and took the world by storm. i'm not a fan, but i think after all he did to the entertainment industry, i believe he deserve a whole load of respect and tribute.

anyways, for those of you who haven't heard which i find it hard to believe since the news of his death took the world by storm, almost on the same scale as when the world witnessed the tsunami; he was a phenomenon, after all. yes i'm talking about none other than our favourite pop icon, michael jackson, the one and only king of pop, a musical genius.

every radio station was playing his music today. hitz, fly, era, you name it. even the saloon i went to today was playing his songs. probably some chinese station. my fm probably. and when i got home and turned on the television, every news channel was reporting about him. i've never heard so many michael jackson's songs and so much about him in my life.

i am so dissapointed with myself for starting to like his music and the jackson five's after he passed away. *slaps self*

speaking of saloon, i finally got my hair cut today. i'm so happy because alvin did a great job cutting them. i say great because cutting my hair, i believe, is no easy task. it's long and thick and way too smooth hence, it's so slippery. what good coincidence i have with him. i was searching for his name card before i stepped into hair impression because i remembered that he did a great job with my hair about um, six months ago. but i couldn'f find his card so i just told the lady boss, "you know what, anyone will do" and tadaa! alvin was the "anyone". and he remembers me! i couldn't recognised him anymore cause he got his hair cut as well. well, alvin's hair was long six months ago ;p

anyways alvin talked alot about movies with me and i couldn't take it anymore so i went like, "did you know michael jackson died today?" and he seemed stunned so i thought he was a big fan or something, like did i suddenly break a bad news to a diehard fan. haha.

but alvin said "nolah i'm just stunned, not in the newsapapers also".

"he just died this morning"

"oh"

and then he went on asking more questions.

and then he went on telling the rest of his hair impression colleagues that michael jackson died. hahaha so funny. i didn't mean the part about michael jackson passing away was funny, i meant the part about alvin telling his collegues about the news that was funny lol wtfish.

and then the not so good news: my semester II results came out today. blerhhh.

i am not liking my results!!!
shouldn't have check today stupidcavina but then you gotta know sooner or later erghh.
note to self:must work harder next sem or else i'll...i'll...
i know, i know, i already put in my 200 percent and mom and dad were really proud of me as always so...
but i'm still not liking my results!!!
i am so gonna be depressed tomorrow cause that's when the sadness really sinks in.
anyways, rest in peace yo, my man mj!
you will be truly missed for you have brought a great deal of change to the world through your music.
your passing was such a waste as you have definitely made such a huge positive impact on the citizens of the world.
lots of love.

xoxo
in loving memory of michael joseph jackson

the zest of life

while i'm sitting here for the past couple of hours going through my documents (i.e. certs and etc. etc. you-know-the-drill-that-kind-of-stuff), something which i was suppose to settle a few months ago, printing them while making sure everything is in order, at the same time trying not to curse the officer(s) in-charge whom i was trying to speak the same tone of language while speaking to a five year-old, my mind was filled with so many thoughts in the midst of being occupied by all those annoying paperwork. then it hit me. it just surprises me on how these things can come flooding through my central nervous system in just a couple of seconds. the excitatory wave which is now flowing through my brain are making me all hyped up. that explains. i've been itching to write (hah! another term for blog) about what i'm feeling ever since that very second hits itself.

it's either that or my glucose level is rather high. it's funny how something so simple, something which you think could supposingly make you mad, be turned upside down in just a few minutes. within those times, your emotions run high and thus, transformed into the bestest of the best level you could ever imagine. or is it me? i feel truly grateful for i could find contentment even in my worst period of time. i could not understand how people could easily be so bored, so easily agitated, so discontent, or couldn't even feel the slightest satisfaction which is obviously there upon their very own eyes. now that explains the increasingly amount of social ills which leads to the high number of crime rates which includes a huge load of drug abusers, mass killers, late night party goers *coughscoughs* (okay okay stop THIS IS NOT DEBATE!). oh wait - does weapons of mass destruction which is oh-so-influential counted? O.o
owkay, to be fair, maybe i don't know what those people are really going through. maybe i haven't reach that level of life yet. or i haven't grown out of my old one. well, i don't want to. to be realistic on the other hand, these people are agitated over silly things, like, seriously minute stuff, like the "urgh-why-don't-i-have-the-latest-cameraphone" that sort of thing, you know. don't get how, don't understand why, don't care also. boy, people sure did bring redundancy to a whole new level nowadays.

contentment is really that simple and easy for me. it doesnt involve a whole load of money or gold or silver okay whatever. as long as i get to go shopping, watch my favourite tvb series, abc series, read my world conflicts (the irony of it all), spend time with my loved ones, read my chic lits, watch classic movies which i deemed is a classic but is actually not haha and well so much more. well, about the money part if you're going to count the number of kaching kaching and bling bling to pay the expensive books, astro bills, pricey dvds (ha ha), err what-kind-of-shopping-does-not-involve-money, yes i know its window shopping but when we're talking about shopping, we don't talk window shop here, okay? *snap. HAHAHA wanted to do that for a very long time now. so let's just not go into it cause money is a real subjective topic, you know?
well i don't know which part is subjective it just is ;P

now MOVING ON!

i longed for those days where i wished i had more time to write a really good piece of article about anything, just writing my soul out, without caring about its twisted irony or its haywired storyline or its contradiction at the last paragraph from the first or its most likely huge load of grammatical errors-err my english is deteriorating mind you-and also the time that i get to shop till i drop with mom, have football talk with dad, and tickle caryn till she wraps herself up with pillows and sheets. or the time i spent with my bunch of pals, the bro and sis down the block, the debaters, and so many of them its really quite impossible to mention all of you here ;p

people say contentment comes from the inner soul and gosh that is so true. but i couldn't fathom the number of people who complains so much about their lives every second and every minute of the day. it's really funny when you come to think about it when they have so much in their life yet, they cannot stop whining one. i mean, it is okay to complain, i do too, we're humans like that, it's just about the level of attitude and mind these people have. like, harlooo??? you have access to all the luxuries of life and you want to tell me you don't have enough porsche in your villa? hah. just an example la you're suppose to apply it in whichever situation you're in hahaha. i guess it's how some people interpret their life. for me, something which begins from a whiney officer in-charge which i thought could make me explode in a few minutes transformed unexpectantly into something positive so fast. god knows how my brain works. it's real funny, sometimes i just don't get myself either. but i'm glad i'm like that. in those minutes, i thought my whole day was going to be spoilt, which is quite impossible when you think about it now, thanks to her and their big bums due to their over-eating and air-conditioning but nooo, i felt happier and hey, at the end of the day, i think she is a nice lady (really!), trying to do her job and all bla bla bla and omygod did i reveal too much???

well, it's just a thought. i think i swayed a little too much from what i wanted to say from the start. might just get myself into trouble cause one day i might contradict whatever i say here and then *boom! but it's okay i think i'm really giddy with all the happy things in life. to each of its own. cheers! ;)

xoxo.

ffo day

hello. apa khaber? this just in. how are you? ni hao ma? lol. in case any of you guys have forgotten me, i'm cavina and i'm back after a loong hiatus, ok make that looooooooooongggg (i swear i could have drag it longer but nope, i'm not gonna do it. and eh i have a damn solid reason ok. for my hiatus. *coughs*)
so anyways!
today
is
.
.
.
F
.
.
.
F
.
.
.
O
.
.
.
DAYYYYYYY!!!!
well, it could have been yesterday.
;D
ffo stands for FINALS FINALLY OVER. this brings out a load of meaning to me because i was in a state of thinking that i could never get through this sem without breaking down (hello? my lecturer dumped four assignments on us prior to a week before the finals and three of them had to be summited before the start of finals and one had to be submitted before the 17th but what difference does that make right since my exam ends on the 20th so might as well get it done with right? lalala).
everything was looking really gloom and dark and black and grey and not good and basically everything associated with dark at that time. plus i had to spend some days in between for debate trainings and other important matters and oh so there goes my one whole day +++. so having no time at all, i had to resort to staying up really late (or early?) till the weee weee weee hours of the morning (read: no sleep at all) to finish up those assignments and batik drawings and stuff.
but!
thanks to the people here (awww you guys are just.. ;)) who never fail to motivate and restore faith in me that i will somehow manage to finish up all my arsesignments and still have time to do other fun stuff (haha yeah, right), like as in other important stuff that i could have done instead of spending all my time on arsesignments only like studying (ahems!), i finally pulled through and manage to get everything done in time. before time summore! this is not bragging, like i've rambled earlier i was really in a state of going into depression because of my workload. but thanks guys, for making me believe that nothing is actually impossible and helping me along the way (tsk tsk i swear i'm so touched i could have cried) and most importantly, making me and changing my perception that having faith is the most important thing in life.
seriously, i was going to break down a few times on the process of completing everything because thinking that most people from other courses have zero assignments left and i have extra workload (my sketches and stuff) made me really depressed but the funny fact is, when i finally completed them i had a thought that i was going to miss them (wtf!). especially sketching and painting which was really an ardious process and i had to be super meticulous than usual (not that i am but then..!).
and the funny texts that keeps coming in, boy, thanks guys you really do know how to make things brighter for someone. here lemme give you guys a sweeeettt ;p
so note to self: have faith no matter what. we could actually get through things during tough times and i had these bunch of guys to remind me that (awwww i love you guys i really do hahah). remind me next sem please! i'm guaranteed to go into a post/pre/whatever traumatic stress (maybe worse!) again!
finals was finally over yesterday at 4 p.m. and during my second last paper i swear my hand hurts so much from writing that i thought i might not be able to write for the next paper (choi! tai ka lai si) and when i was doing my last paper i swear my hand was gonna break by the time i got to the last question. everything was in essay format yesterday. so to total up there was 4 essays in the first well 4 times 2 we have 8 essay questions for the first paper and then we have 5 and 5 times 2 plus 1 maybe 2 i forgot so we have 12 essay questions in the second paper and that totalled up to 12 plus 8 owkay that's 20 essay questions altogether from my last two papers. my hand hurts. i bet everyone else in my course was in the same situation. and to write all of that within a given time frame well...go figure.
anyways, the fact of the truth is i cannot believe i actually got through this sem at all. i thought i was going to die halfway. can't believe that environmental science students are sooo busy, like 3/4 of what medic students do but of course, theirs is never ending work. damn i so respect them for that.
despite all the courseworks and debate trainings and exams, hrmm did i mention i manage to spare some time to tutor a certain someone in between all that summore. fuh! now that finals is over, i feel all weird again that i ain't doing something which i am always doing on a daily basis - studying 19 hours a day - and omygod is that a missing feeling i'm having now (omygodddd i'm crazy somebodyyyy please knock my head!!!)
so thanks guys, for all your motivation and faith-restoring process and pep talks despite you guys having to go through your own exam-stress as well - it really worked! i bet you guys out there are gonna scream out something like yer you only thanked your friends? what about your parents you ungrateful child lol wtf.
well, course, i couldn't have done it without my parents, mom even said something about how proud she was of what i've accomplised in debate (awwww..that's so sweet but but but i didn't even achieved anything yet =.=)
the downside of all the jubilation and excitement is that i'm currenly down with fever, flu, headache, and sorethroat. went back and sleep sleep and sleep after my last paper yesterday (ooh after checking some mid term results ;)) and woke up with a headache and flu and sorethroat. and now with fever but it already subsided since this morning =D
omygod this post is wordly. i shall wrap this up and go do something else ha ha ha. will be off to kk later with the guys ;) omygod this post is sooo wordly.

family tragedy in LA, california

it was an extremely sad, sad day for the rajaram household yesterday. if they were still alive, that is. it was definitely a big blow to their relatives, though.
for those who still do not have a clue on what i am babbling about, an american-indian family was involved in a murder-suicide tragedy on monday morning. means yesterday la.
to cut in short, a very distraught man, believed to have a MBA in finance and have a history of working with big accounting firms such as Price Waterhouse, shot and killed his mother-in-law, wife, and three sons due to financial difficulties .
from what i have read, they definitely look like they came from a well-to-do family. would you just look at their beautiful Porter Ranch house. what a waste. all because of some financial crisis and a man who, out of absolute despair, believes that killing his whole family and himself would be an acceptable exit.
tsk tsk.
for those facing the same dilemma, watch and learn please.

and for those who aren't, please reach out in any way you can if you come across people who are facing such difficulties. intervene! reach out! interfere! do whatever you can to restore their hope and faith again! there are other substantial resources available owkayyy. we do not want a tragedy like this repeating itself again.

my heart goes out to the suspect's family. may you rest in peace.

back to back

i'm back from labuan already. arrived at my apartment yesterday night. fuh. the trip was beyond our imagination. good and not so good. but it turned out to be the best at the end of the day. one of the best i mean. more updates on that later.

i'll be off to ranau tomorrow. and then kundasang a few hours later. hmm i have no idea what to expect. those two places are hotspots in sabah. two of the best tourists' spots. we'll be travelling in a big group. a really really big group.

=D

anyhow i am looking forward to the trip tomorrow. especially thekundasang which is like ala cameron highlands. hehe. must buy kubis for judy lolol. and then she'll get the roti and we'll make roti kubis. harh har. very funny judy.

looks like i've been travelling a lot lately. aaahhh...life is gooodd. but reality check - finals are coming soon. oohhmyyguudness. i must so gear myself up into the studying mood once i'm back from this trip. but now i shall lalalalala ;p

i haven't pack yet though. geez soo lazy. i've come to realise that i have issues with packing. i love it but i can't control it and i don't want to do it. lol.

***
just got off the phone with mum. reminds me of how much i still miss home. and her cooking :)))

despite all the good things here, i'll never stop missing everyone and everything back at home. although i could live here.

more updates later on. with love.
xoxo.
