Greetings from India

Hello hello. Zomg okay this is too much it's been almost a whole year since I wrote an entry HAHAHAHA. A friend recently inspired me to blog again by telling me that he has started a blog and another reminded me of how much I love to write, which is the core reason as to why Cavina Ally Lim's blog existed HEHE. Thank you guys you guys are really awesome people who made me realised how important it is to continue living on my dream lol. I hope I can keep the spirit and hype up /twinkle eyes I won't let you down lol.

Anyways just a short entry because it is late already and tomorrow (today Malaysian time) is a long day. We're going to Amritsar in Punjab in eight hours Indian time to visit the Sri Harmandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple. In case you haven't already know, I'm currently in Haryana, India baby! Will be staying here for 10 weeks /monkeydance. Excited because never once in my life would I have thought that I would visit India. Plus, I've just celebrated my 23rd birthday in a full blast Indian tradition too. Will upload pictures in another entry okthxbai.

Meanwhile, here's some appetizer picture of us girls on an Indian rickshaw in New Delhi. Super duper fun experience, I must say :D

I love this picture! Me on the left with Kamles and Fangjie & Jye Ying behind us :D

joyous june that was

a pleasant month it has been and i truly cannot find the right adjective to describe and express it. i have had a few awesomely pleasant surprises to send me in awe for a whole lifetime. sometimes i feel like i have so much to thank for!

i'd really like to write about the whole amazing street-fooding and sight-seeing adventure we had lately but it suddenly occurred to me that that effort may seem a little bit too ambitious at this moment. it's 3:56 am i'm sleeeepy LOL. and i seemed to be suffering from the writer's block syndrome lately. i can't seem to write properly anymoreeee these days! well that just means i have to write even more. read books with proper english. british english. wahah i like.

having writer's block and my downfall in being able to sum up a great experience in a whole word (not that i have been able to, mind you :p), it seems so much easier to post up pictures here. but there's over 500 pictures! and each and every one of them tells a different story. i can't just choose which one to post. it's not as easy, right. pictures like a great adventure we had are treasures.

i still can't figure out how we ended up with over 500 pictures for just a five-day adventure. summore i deleted so many already -__-

anyhoo, i shall do two for now. too lazy and too tired. whee!

with the surprise visitor from Borneo, johnny bok, and jonathan. haha. waiting for the cable at kek lok si temple to bring us high up! xx pohleen's behind camera lens :)

daniel, me, and dan dan at Tropical Spice Garden! we were hanging from a ahems, cliff? :p this pic kind of blur but still one of my favs nevertheless! xx

it's inevitably difficult to sum up our five-day adventure in Penang with so many awesome fanatico friends in two pictures. not forgetting all the birthday surprises, trips here and there, the amazing family gatherings and bonding time, and then there's the amazing world cup experience! sad, honeymoon period's gonna be over soon with final year project coming up but still looking forward to going back to beautiful Sabah nevertheless. because beyond all that, another amazing adventure awaits! HAHA <3

psyched

wow i must be the most hardworking person to blog at 3:44 am lol.

i think i'm staying up just so i don't miss my flight again T________T

this is not nais at all even though i know that there's gonna be about six people who are going to give me morning calls in approximately 14 minutes.

hrmm. this is not good they'll probably scream at me if they found out i hadn't slept at all T____T

but it's okay because this is all for a good cause even if i end up with big bulging eyebags later i can always sleep in the plane wtf.

well i hope i can sleep in the plane and not stay up in excitement LOL.

to be honest, i'm staying up to listen to justin's bieber's one time cause it's just so nais! i don't know what's all the fuss about people liking him too much and people totally hating him. so extreme one! you can either like his songs or like him choose one don't hate both! i only like one song from him anyways see how fair a person i am LOL.

anyways this is how i look like when i listen to one time.

see, itz with ze love, <3

i still can't believe

i missed my flight home to penang yesterday T____T

and my whole mas ticket from kk to penang via kl got burned.

this has never happened to me! who says first times are always the best wtf.

i must be jinx with malaysian airlines or something cause the last time i flew with mas, we had to standby for almost four hours T___________T

if i ever do take mas again, i'll make sure i'll arrive at the airport like, five hours earlier before check-in time.

in my defense, i don't think the mas staff was being gracious at all. we were only a few minutes late before the check-in counter closes. is this what you call MH Malaysian Hospitality? and i'm a malaysian wtf.

okay enough swearing.

on a brighter note, i get to spend some time in kuching instead!

i'm just really bummed out cause well, i was really looking forward to spending time at home with ze mummy and ze daddy and ze babie. but it's okay now i get to see them in two days!
since i didn't have a chance to do a mother's day post so here's a belated one:

this was back when i still had curly murly hair! <3

to my dearest mummy, happy belated mummys day! you're ze bestest best mummy in the WWW (whole wide world). i love you so much and i miss you and i can't wait to be home to see you again. wishing you all the good things in the world, good health, happyness, joy, and love, every day, every second. *hugss & kisses!

with love,
ze baby girl <3

el pelo largo y castano

i really feel like cutting my hair but i can only do that after the
15th day of chinese new year t.t

i feel like cutting it short-er ;p was suppose to do it when i got back from kk but i'm just too busy! //lalala shouldn't be an excuse but I"M SERIOUS!!!

well they say my hair is fine nice already lah noneed to cut but the weather is pushing me to spot a new hairdo. heh another excuse blame the weather plaks =p

now that i really think about it, i wanna go back to having a fringe. it should be more manageable.

hmm, i'm considering cutting my own hair. in kk. maybe, just maybe //giggles

i'm suppose to write a more meaningful and deeper post than this but i got carried away lol wtf. i'm itching to write an emo post actually. a good emo one. let's see how the night goes loves!

cav on a 'lil wupid '09 and a few last holiday drops

with only about five days left in penang, i'm contemplating on how i should wisely spend my last days of holidays best before the new semester starts. thing is, i have practically done almost everything and everything that i wanted to do. i've travelled, catch up with some old pals, eat (that will never be enough for me!), sleep (ditto!), and um, read? like the economics and stuff? heh, nah. i kinda made an *coughscoughs* informal announcement that i might be ending my debating career after the last round at GEMS WUPID last week. that's world universities peace invitational debate. very cool tournament, the last of 2009 for me. another tournament where i get to debate on a world class debating arena and meet lots and lots of ang-moh. hehe.

they say it will never happen. either i'll get suck back right in or they suck me in into debating again. hah, we'll see.

aaaanyways, so after much contemplation, i'd knew what i really wanted to do. i really really wanted to stay in and catch up with the family and watch lots lots of movies and plan where to eat out five times a day. i've rarely been home these days and yeah, i really miss this. so before i fly again, i'd really like to hoo-za with my hommies. must spend this last few holi-days wisely. next sem is going to be crazy as usual. i'm anticipating more assignments and those lab works and oh yeah, fieldtrips? grr.
here's some of the latest pictures during WUPID. i cut my hair yesterday, so i can't do the curling-my-hair-with-my-fingers thing anymore t.t but i lovin' my new long bob!

here's shu fen and i. she's my junior slash team mate for wupid '09. i love the dress i was in!

everyone look so proper in this pic! ;p here's us with LP from mahidol university, bangkok. he's this really cool monk debater. plus he remembers me from smu hammers singapore! he has officially become my favourite monk ;)))
more pics will be up on facebook soon! it's so much more convenient ;p
signing off now, xoxo

was there for the first inaugural asian bp debate in chulalongkorn university =D

bangkok's so awesome i wana go back there again.

funny thing, we didn't get to taste tomyam. we couldn't seem to find it! ish peliknye. thought it would be all over the streets or something since they're famous for that.

getting real tired so this will be a quick update. and here's one picture of me and sheren in suvarnabumi airport in bangkok.

more pictures next time! just in case you wanna see more pictures, part I of our bangkok adventure is already out in my facebook ;)))

time of my life

i just realised that we're gonna get to celebrate loy kratong in bangkok. issisnt it niceee?

i've always wanted to watch the loy kratong. now i even get to experience it ;DDD

***

one another note, here's one of my favourite pictures of us ;)

these two are one of the reasons for the time of my life in uni. <3>

i'm on furthest right if you haven't already know ;ppp

more pics next time!

***

so i went shopping today.

i shop but judy dropped. ha ha! this girl is so funny.

everywhere i went in the mall today, i hear black eye peas' songs. it's like the whole mall is on b.e.p. record. only two of their songs were played though. "heartbreaker" and "boom boom pow!" but coolio. i love them, so no complains. ;D

which reminds me of fergie. heard her husband josh duhamel woke a stripper up in the middle of the night to have sex? omgosh, if that's true, i'm utterly dissapointed at him. thought he's one of those loyal hollywood celebrity husbands.

anyways, if that's true, he's on my weirdo list.

oh man, i'm supposed to be researching on thailand, and important stuff like non-intervention policies and times of war. look what i made myself do??? ;p

chula here i come

now that exams are finally over, i feel...weird. like my daily routine has been disrupted because before this, my life revolved around assignments, quizzes, exams, and the like. it's a nice feeling, nevertheless, knowing that i've already put in my best, day and night.
now everything seemed kinda light. like i can watch drama at ease, talked to my room mates with ease, and last night, i felt so excited just by talking to mom. just because i knew that i don't have a whole piling workload waiting for me when i put down the phone nor do i need to crammed my head with formulas and facts.
though now it's time to study once again. on world issues. politics, nuclear, war, humanity, socials. ahems.
will be off to bangkok for the inaugural asian british parliamentary debate in two days. though i'm excited, it's nervewrecking knowing that now the university wants some results. tnc just analogized us to world cup. "we're footballers of the world and we will win this!!!" wow what an interesting guy. yep. we just debated in front of him just now. heh.
one word: A.W.E.S.O.M.E.
well of course i want results as well. it just ain't easy. it's not football right. how often does someone's point get across the room? exactly my point.
anyways, this will be my second international tourney. asian bp will be organized by chulalongkorn university, bangkok. its quite prestigious seeing as we have people like tj as ca and tate, logan, and sharm as dca. must be careful not to embarass ums now =/
so, economist, here i comee.
xoxo.

oh noooo~

so kris allen won the american idol season 8. sheesh. so geram. erghhh. i have never personally followed the show this season due to being tied down to *coughs!* campus life-far away from home, no tivo (hah!), work, work, and work, okay it's basically just work now don't blame the distance and the inexistence of the square box, that's not true. i mean, the tivo part. i mean, duh, we don't have tivo obviously since when malaysia so progressive. we have televisions. astro. star world? THAT we have to go someone's house *coughs!*. or mamak. so yea.
.
i am flummoxed.
.
i am flustered.
.
and rather flabbergasted, if i may add.
.
not that i have a grudge against kris. now who am i to judge. it's just that i finally settle to root for adam lambert. i just thought he was far more deserving than kris. more versatile, though he may be a little off the drama. i'd thought he was a better performer during the finale, showed that he put in more effort unlike kris. just like simon cowell said after his second performance, kris was "a little too laidback for a night like this". no doubt kris allen has what it takes, that dark horse, who is no doubt cute but probably taken *coughs!*, and adam has had a series of stage performances background. drama school probbaly taught him alot so yea but may the better man wins, right?
anyways, the result came as a shock to me and i have no idea why. maybe it's because i kinda put alot of hope into adam being crowned the 8th american idol title but oh well, kris is cute anyways and adam is already famous he doesn't need to be crowned to add on to his already overflowing glory.
;DDD
anyhooo, i loved the performances tonight. *squels in delight* omyguddness nobody told me jason mraz was coming haha bah as if i was there. fergie! david cook! well, his presence is pretty predictable. condolences on his brother's death over cancer. hrmm who else. well, i saw katie holmes with cute baby suri last night in the show. during the duo's last performances. and then there's santana! that guy just appears after a long time of dissapearance from the showbiz. not that i'm very well updated about the showbiz. heheh. but anyhow they were a.w.e.s.o.m.e.!!! i mean the 15 finalists. fuh! they wow-ed me. i got blown away. goosebumps all over. totally. secretly wished i was there. but good enough that i watched it live ;DDD
it's one unbelievable night which left me shell-shocked. and a ring below my eyes. whatever it is, the show was worth waking up for, or rather, staying up for ;ppp
xoxo.

the thing about me is

...i do not have the dicipline to update my blog. and then it died. and i revive it back. which is the best thing. well to be fair, i absolutely do not have the time to update. at all. this is something which i have been harping on for as long as i can remember. ever since i started to know life and became busy. ever since, ever.
heh.
this short semester is finally over. i thank God for i have survive probably one of the craziest semesters i have to endure. this sem was assignments, assignments, assignments. pop quizzes. tests. labs. reports. field trips. ecetra ecetra. you name it, you know it. and then before i know it, it was finals all over again. and then, it's over.
my.
second.
semester.
as.
an.
undergraduate.
is.
finally.
over.
i cannot believe it.
not that this sem was any different from the last, but this sem is one hell of a short semester. packed. action packed. with loadsa fun, drama, and tears. and yet at the same time, bombastic craziness, laughter, and fun filled my time through this bunch of people called friends. and my brothers and sisters down the block.
and here i am now, at singapore for a debate tournament which i have been a little anticipating for. the smu hammers debate. i secretly cannot wait to debate.
staying at this dormitory style accomodation called footprints hostel with shan shan, chze lor, and poh leen, i am truly grateful for the superfast broadband they have here for my mobile is currently disabled. i now know that communication breakdown can truly affect somebody. and that it is not called a breakdown for nothing. muahaha.
0215 hours and i gotta sleep. have to be up in four hours. on another note, i'm actually dreading to debate like i always do before any tournament. then the fire lights up and boom! kidding kidding. so my mobile's dead. hrm. so...to mom, dad, sis, the big family, friends, brothers, and sisters down the block. don't worry! i'm pretty much alive!!!
more update soon. if i do not awesomely slack again.
xoxo.

island hopping - part III

part t.h.r.e.e.

aiseh lol.

the second island that we hopped on was pulau manukan ;) this one was the busiest among the three. heavy crowd here. mostly korean and japanese tourists. maybe it was because sutera harbour (or was it tanjung aru?) was closed by (or somehow linked to) this island.

welcome babeh

i especially love this picture!

sand. sea. surf.

we could almost see the sunset from here.

they could really make a good fish spa!

manukan island was so crowded that we had a hard time adjusting because the previous island was really deserted (probably because it was soo early when we arrived at mamutik island ;p). the island was really beautiful and we girls could spot hottie-hot-hotties everywhere (hehe!) but the thing was, we couldn't exactly find a good empty spot to swim freely with the fishes. so that was when we decided to swim in the deep, deep end of the ocean.

no, just kidding.

i wouldn't dare. the guys did though. and they brought back sea cucumbers from the deep end. sea cucumbers! can you imagine! the exact ones that i have been trying to protect all along. the exact black hairyslashfurry species that i saw from aquaria last time. aiya. got no picture to show :

we spent a probably good fifty minutes squeezing the wheezy out of these sea cucumbers.

then it was time to put them back in the deep end :(

also, i know they pretended to be dead and all because i think that's what they do. sea cucmbers like to pretend to be dead when they are touched (or so i think) and i know you're looking at me like, "what?! is this how you 'protect' sea cucumbers you sea cucumber-squeezer?" okay next!

we did the typical-thing-to-do-at-a-beach after that. it feels really good to bury each other toes in the cold soft sand. damn its soo good its indescribable. i think no, its just me. i'm bad at descriptive writng. ughhh.

this guy volunteered to be buried. the burrying process somehow *chokes* went out of hand. details shall not be revealed. muahaha.

after some time of digging and burrying and digging and burrying and strengthening it (wtf!) with saltwater, it was finally time to pose.

and pose somemore we did =D

speedboat ride. on the way to the third island, pulau sapi. wheee~!

our seniors from debate had told us that sapi island is the best island to go among the three but we *ahems* beg to differ. i still prefer the first one personally. teehee.

sapi island was a bit deserted by the time we reached there. probably because it was late already as all island tours stop at 5 p.m. which means no more tourists to islands after five.

this could also mean another thing *evil grin*:

we have the whole goddamn pretty island to ourselvesss!!! wheee~! *jump in jubilation!*

although we were already almost exhausted by the time we reached the third island, everyone was in full energy when somebody caught sight of this creature and shouted for everyone to go 'have a look' ;p

we named it thecreature. its very cute actually. camera shy guy. no, joking. its seriously very scary. it looked like it will bite your head off within seconds before you can even say aligator. only this one big sized tourist attempted to go near it. heheh.

our speedboatman told us it was a giant biawak later on. wahalla~ O.o

we were space-deprived from the previous manukan island and therefore, imagine our excitement when we see this big piece of sand land. haha. it doesn't make sense. sand land sand land sand land. lalalalala.

we were thrilled!

despite the exhaustion and some coming up sunburns, we really wanted to make full use of the big space. we were very much prompted to do something different now. play a game, perhaps? ;p

so, the guys, with their big brains and all (i'm not being sarcastic!), had a better idea. the ten of them invested in a rm10 colourful beach ball (quite ugly, i must say). hehe. smart right. the ball came to be quite handy. we really made full use of it. really!

aiya, no picture of the ball.

first, we toss the colourful striking ugly but useful ball around. in the water. we best were actually trying to compare who could toss the ball the furthest into the deep end. this funny game turned rugby-like when we could see ten *coughs* men chasing after one ball in the waters. one thing lead to another and before we knew it, we heard somebody said "touchdown!".

then it became a real game. serious one. despite all the hahas and hehes ;p

because at the end of the day, it was funny to see these guys struggling to get the ball. all look like five-year old kids.

after that, we wanted to play iceman but decided that since everyone was almost half-dead already, iceman would not be a good idea. so, we played monkey :))) in the water. i got to be the monkey halfway through the game but escaped when a diving instructor came up to us and asked us if we want to go snorkelling with him. somebody went and came back before this and brought along a starfish with her.

so we went with mr. diving instructor. with our goggles and oxygen mask. damn kewl ok. haha. i cant really swim but can you believe that after this island trip, i became a better swimmer? LOL. really one!

aneeewaayyysss.

i get to put the starfish back.

everything was sooo beautiful under the sea. i get to see everything and anything that i could only see in hmm let me see, aquaria, aquarium!, underwater world, the likes *yawn* ;p

mr. diving instructor took us quite deep into the ocean and that's where the magic come from. i get to see, touch, and feel the sea creatures, creatures that i have never imagine myself seeing. the best part was watching the blowfish explode and then floating in the water. ommyguddness it look so helpless it was almost funny!

sigh. snorkelling in sapi island seriously made me wanna study marine biology. i wanna go snorkelling again! no, no more snorkelling. next time i'll try diving instead *ahems.

sea urchins. can be deadly if stepped upon.

heheh yeah. swim at your own risk.

one last group photo before we chao.

byebye beautiful islands! stay the same :)

hope to see you again next year, unpolluted!

xoxo.
